Tiki Central / Home Tiki Bars

Colder Climates

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the site and have tried to search for an answer but no luck so far, so I would like to throw this question out to you.

I want to build a tiki bar in my garden, but being in the UK, through out the year the weather is mainly wet and cold.

From your experience, what is the best design of bar should I go for (open or with side panels) and what are the common problems I will get from being in a cold climate. I guess treating the wood is one thing and covering electrics another. I plan to keep all other items indoors such as lighting, bottles etc.

What I don't want to do is spend a lot of time, effort and money on something that will go mouldy, rot or look rubbish after a year or so.

Any adivice would be greatly appreciated and of course photos to follow once under construction...

Regards,
Davey
