  2. “I'm an Occidental Woman in an Oriental Mood for Love” the Gene Austin song sung by Mae West from the 1936 movie: Klondike Annie, taken from her collection: Come Up and See Me Sometime – 30 Original Mono Recordings, 1933-1954.

  3. “Hong Kong Blues” by Hoagy Carmichael from the CD: Hoagy Sings Carmichael, from the 1944 Humphrey Bogart-Lauren Becall movie “To Have And Have Not,” including Artie Bernstein on Bass and Spike Jones on Drums. That song was included on the late 1940s LP – which was one of the first long playing record ever produced – assembled from his earlier 78 rpm sides called: The Stardust Road, currently available on the CD: Hoagy Sings Carmichael.

  4. “Kickin' the Gong Around” the 1931 song by Cab Calloway & His Orchestra, from the comedical compilation: Marijuana Madness: The Best of Reefer Songs 1927-1947.

  5. “Gomen Nasai (Forgive Me)” the 1952 song recorded by Slim Gaillard & His Shintoists from the CD Box Set: Laughing in Rhythm, featuring Slim on Vocal, Ben Webster on Tenor Sax, Cyril Hayes on Piano, Milt Jackson on Drums and Ray Brown on Bass.

  6. “Rain in Rangoon,” the 1958 performance of the Vernon Duke song by The Markko Polo Adventurers, appearing on the anthology: The History of Space Age Pop, Vol. 2: Mallets in Wonderland.

  7. “Limehouse Blues,” the 1922 song originally written for Gertrude Lawrence by Douglas Furber & Philip Braham, performed here by Esquivel and His Orchestra on his 1960 LP: Infinity in Sound, Volume 2.

  8. “Sakura,” a Japanese Folk Song performed by ukulele master Jake Shimabukuro on his 2006 CD: Gently Weeps.

  9. “The Japanese Sandman” The 1920 song by Richard A. Whiting & Raymond B. Egan recorded in the late 1930s by Felix Mendelssohn and His Hawaiian Serenaders from the collection: Crazy Rhythm Hawaiian Swing.

By the legendary electronic music pioneer and composer Raymond Scott & Bernie Hanighen for the 1946 Broadway musical: Lute Song, starring Mary Martin and featuring a then-unknown Yul Brynner and future First Lady Nancy Reagan.

  16. “Arirang (Mountain of Happiness),” the Korean folk song perfomed by the Hawaiian singer Emma Veary from the collection: The Best of Emma.

  17. “Twilight World,” the song written by Marian McPartland and Johnny Mercer performed by the Chicago Jazz pianist and singer Judy Roberts on her CD: Circle of Friends, with Greg Fishman on Tenor Sax & Flute; Stewart Miller on Bass; and Greg Sergo on Drums.
