OK so Nutty isn't a Tiki Band,
But Sonny Moon just sang with the Martini Kings at Tiki Caliente.
But he is in Nutty full time,
So I thought some of you might want to see what his band Nutty is all about.

check them out here:
http://www.nuttyjazz.com/index.html
or Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nutty/57138253706?ref=ts
and hear them here on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/thenuttylounge

In a Nut shell, its Swingin' Jazz music with clever classic rock lyrics sprinkled over the top. Ask the guys in Tikiyaki Orchestra what they think about Nutty.
Then you'll know they are worth checking out.

They(Nutty) are playing this Friday May 25th in Long Beach,

They are lounge, and excellent.

Harvelle's may not be a tiki bar BUT
great place to see and hear live music.
Got loads of old style elegance.

With only a half day at the office Friday, I just might crawl out of The Valley for this. Willing to car pool if anyone wants to tag along.

Sonny Moon with the Martini Kings was Awesome to see life and one of the highlights of the weekend for me,Just think what it would sound like hearing Sonny Moon sing with a band he practices with and jams with regularly.

A Must See..........

I have been to Harvelle's before and it is a good venue (Long Beach is better than Santa Monica IMO). Drinks and food are both good. Should be a fun evening.

They usually play at the Hip Kitty in Clairmont, so for all the beach city peeps, this is a nice close venue to see them! I've seen them 3-4 times before, highly recommended! I'm planning on going. See some of you cats there.

Or come out and see them @ Skinny's in Burbank- they are doing the 2nd thursday of June and July.
More people need to learn to dig the ways of Nutty.

here is the link to listen to the Ray Boylan show with Sonny Moon, if you missed it.

tonight,

Great show last night. Amazing how they can blend different musical simultaneously and make them work. Mix some brasilian samba with some miles davis, float it with some led zepellin and throw in a little gilligan's island for garnish. The music is like a cocktail.

Was fortunate to be in the area Friday night and catch the show. I agree with PiPhiRho, the show was great(except for lack of air conditioning. Nutty and the Harvelles venue both exerted an old school Rat Pack vibe.

Jeff, thanks for posting this event last week. I would have not have known about it otherwise. Sorry that you were not feeling well enough to make it. Having missed Tiki Caliente due to my daughter's high school graduation this show helped to fill that void.

Thanks Paul for steering me in the correct direction in the selection of some fine cocktails.

More events at Harvelles. Nice club but

EXOTIC TIKI: BURLESQUE SHOW AT HARVELLES

is it REALLY tiki?

Then on June 30

The Rockabilly Luau at Harvelles

Featuring music by The Hula Girls!
