Beachcomber Room Trio

In researching Maine tiki restaurants I came across these interesting locations from the web. I did a fairly detailed search on TC and could find nothing similar, please excuse me if I'm wrong.

1st) Beachcomber Room--Hotel Graymore Portland, Maine-Monte Proser like graphics

2nd) Blue Mirror's Beachcomber Room 275 Clinton Ave Newark,NJ-Another Proser type menu...ironically a Blue Mirror Lounge at 257 Clinton Ave exists today...not the same stunning deco place though.

3rd) Beachcomber Room of the Cinema Grill Omaha, Nebraska

Portland and Omaha? Pre tiki had long arms. OGR

That photo holder from the Beachcomber Room is a direct borrow from Monte Prosers. Here is the one I have from Miami Beach.

Here is a matchbook from the Beachcomber Room in New Jersey that also advertises The Zombie, also borrowed from Monte Proser.

And here is the full matchbook from the Beachcomber Club in Nebraska.

It featured the tropical Hurricane drink.

There were a ton of Beachcomber copycats out there. Everybody wanted to be like Don!

Here is another souvenir photo holder I picked up from the Beachcomber Room.

The photo inside, not much in the way of decorations...rather sparse.

Wonder if Monte Proser had a hand in this one. Or, the rip-off artist was ripped-off himself.
