Recipe: The Pink Gorilla

Pages: 1 2 replies

Over this past week-end I hosted a children's charity event at my home. For the children present I created a frozen drink I called "The Big Pink Monkey" and had it served in custom monkey-face mugs that the children got to keep.
THE BIG PINK MONKEY:
3/4 oz of banana syrup
3/4 os fresh lime juice
2 oz of Tropicana Tropical Fruit Punch
2 oz of Coco Lopes coconut creme
1/2 tsp Fassionola

Blend with lots of ice to make it 'almost' a frozen drink. Garnish with pineapple chunks and cherries. The recipe can be easily multiplied to make large batches.

The adult version, the "Pink Gorilla" was made with the same ingredients EXCEPT for the following substitutions and addition:

1.5 oz of Cruzan Banana rum for the banana syrup + 1 oz. of gold rum.
Mix it up the same way and serve with the pineapple, cherry + a mint sprig.

Both drinks, (which were the only drinks served) were a hit with both the children and the adults.

A nice sum of money for the charity was also raised.

I bet you feel more like you do now now than you did when you came in.

Sounds tasty!

Any photos of the custom monkey faced mugs? That's the part that really caught my attention!
