first Pier 1 Imports in SD

Vintage San Diego posted this photo today of the first Pier 1 Imports store in San Diego. Check out the entrance. This is around 1968-69. The building is now used for Walter Anderson's Nursery on Pacific Highway. Sadly, the doorway is gone.

Somehow it must have found its way down from the Seattle World's Fair:
