I just read on Shagmart that Shag is designing some prints, mugs, and Hawaiian shirts for Disneyland's Anniversary for The Tiki Room. Items should be available around September.

I am on the Disney's Gallery mailing list and received an add for Shag's tribute to the Enchanted Tiki Room. It is titled "One Enchanted Evening " debuts: September 20,2003

Oh boy, I guess I'm booking a ticket to California for September 20th!

I called the Disney Gallery this evening and no one there knew anything about it.

Curses! I need to make plane reservations!

I also have been trying to find out more info on this print. I have emailed a few different Disney contact emails with questions and none have responded yet. Do you think this is going to be strictly Disney releasing this print or will Shagmart have a hand in it? And yes, it looks like I too may be buying a plane ticket too for the 20th.

For those of you who are keeping track, Disneyland is 48 years old today!

My flight and hotel have been booked. $325 for round trip from Florida & hotel. Hope they don't change the date. :)

We are going that Saturday too. Do you think they will sell all of the prints on the first day? It is Mrs. Larry Lava's birthday weekend so we were going to be there anyway. Perfect timing. Does anyone know if the print will sell in the Disney Gallery or the Disneyana store?

I am fairly certain it will be for sale in the Disney Gallery. While the out of towners are in Disneyland pick up the Tiki Room watch.

My old boss at Imagineering informed me that Shag did several different paintings of the Tiki Room for Disneyland, but the one shown above is the only one that will be available....
Also - he just finished drawings for a Tiki Room Lanai "Big Fig" - which if I understand it correctly, will be a sculpted model of the pre-show area with all the Lanai Gods....

As a SoCal annual passholder, I can't get in on Saturdays but I will be sure to stop in on the Sunday 21st. If anyone else will be there we can meet up and sing the tiki room song in unison.

Just returned from Disneyland and there was no sign of the Anniversary stuff. I asked at the watch shop and they said they had the Tiki Room anniversary watch but it was not displayed in the store.

I talked to friendly store employees of Frontierland and I may have a source for items sold only at the park. I'm looking into it.

$350 for the print. Hmmm....Isn't that about the price of a one-day pass to DisneyLand? :D

I have not heard anything new but they finally put the event up on the gallery webpage. Here is the link:

We were in Disneyland this weekend and talked to a cast member in the Gallery. They said that they expect the print to sell out very fast and that it will be for sale at 8:00am at the Disneyana store on Main Street. I will be so unhappy if I do not get one! Good luck everybody!

That's great info! Will the Disneyana store also carry the Tiki Mugs and purses? (hold your snickering...they bring good moolah on ebay)or do we go elsewhere?

I'm going to DisneyWorld in FL in October.Anyone been to the Enchanted Tiki Room there recently?

The WDW show is totally different from the original that used to be there and still runs (mostly) in California.

Most people either love it or hate it -- no middle ground. I won't give you too many details so you can make up your own mind when you go.

Are they only releasing the mugs n shirts and other stuff besides the print at this event too? Or will they be in the Disney gallery? Does anyone have any pics of the other stuff besides the print? I am dying to see the shirt...

I was at Disneyland this weekend and talked to everyone I could at the Disney Gallery and the Disneyana store about this. They're expecting an onslaught the day the print is released. Apparently they've been getting 100's of phone calls about it from accross the country.
As for the other merch (mug, purse, shirt, maybe more?) they've been told that it might arrive the day the print does but it could also be days or weeks later.

Everything better be there that day...I'm not flying cross-country just to pick up one print!

Are any TC members interested in getting in line around 6:00 am the morning the print is released? Maybe we can meet and wait in delirious anticipation so we don't miss out. Please let me know if any are interested.

We will meet you at 6am. Will the parking structure be open that early?

Hi everyone, this is Jeff Wade - I was fortunate enough to meet many of you at Hukilau 2003, and I look forward to meeting many more of you next year!

Anyway, I seriously doubt I'll be able to make it out to CA to try and get some Shag merchandise. ANY CHANCE ONE OF YOU 6AMers MIGHT BE WILLING TO PURCHASE SOME ITEMS FOR ME? (I will gladly pre-pay you.)

By the way... I called the DisneyEARs line yesterday... they said there is a limit of 2 prints per person! (Althugh in retrospect, I wonder if they confused my question with the limit of 2 items to be signed.)

A little bird also told me there will be a smaller limited editon/signed print handed out to the first 100 people in line at the Disneyana store. Freebie...as if there weren't enough reasons already to attend!

Lets all coordinate our messages on to one thread. Since we are going to travel and meet for this release then it is an "event". Check out the thread in the events forum. Lets coordinate a meeting time and place.
