Don the Beachcomber article from Life

I scanned in the "Life Goes to a Hollywood South Seas Party" article from the Sept 23, 1946 issue of LIFE. It's available here in full 600 DPI 15MB glory: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kgbju0r53cgpijd/LIFESept23%2C1946.pdf

It's the same one available through Google's magazine search, but in much higher quality.

Once I get my hands on the Trader Vic article from LIFE I'll do the same. I just managed to find this issue of LIFE at an antiques flea market.

You must have a bigger scanner bed or better copy than me, because that full page pic is much improved over my scan. I have to scan it several times and stitch it together.

Amazing artical! Really cool to see Stephen Crane at a Don the Beachcomber party too!
You can see him sizing up Donn in that picture... Lol!

Swanky, I scanned it a few pieces at a time and used Photoshop's Photomerge feature. If you provide enough overlap it does a fantastic job.
