My Dad's Vinyl podcast-now available!

I've decided to join the ranks of "podcaster". I'm no pro but I recently rediscovered my Dad's vinyl collection from the mid 50's through the 60's. I decided to share these little treasures in the form of a podcast: My Dad's Vinyl: Scratches, Pops and All!

Lots of great Mid Century Latin Jazz, Cha Cha, Bossa Nova, etc. plus a really wide selection of Lounge, Swing and, yes, some Hawaiian and Exotica. In fact, there will be a Hawaiian/Tiki/Exotica episode in the near future. The music featured are all from my Dad's actual vinyl, no digital files so embrace the sound of clicks, pops and the occasional hiss we all came to know and love during the days of vinyl!

Thanks to those who gave me help and advice along the way. A special "Thanks Pal!" to our own Digitiki for some sound advice and words of encouragement. We have a great community here on Tiki Central! 2 episodes are in the can with more on the way. It will hopefully be a monthly show.

Now this is awesome!

I love this kind of thing, because it is like my own experience....(My mom worked at a hip hollywood record store during the late 50's/early 60s and has a typical vintage mid century record collection that I grew up listening to since I was a baby on one of those big tube console stereos we had.)

Glad you are doing something with your collection!

I'm excited to hear your podcast! Great idea!

Episode 3 is now available. A little Bossa Nova, Esquivel, Johnny Cash, Dino and even a shot of Cuban Pop all from My Dad's Vinyl. Enjoy!

Episode 4 is now ready to go! Some Lalo Schifrin, Lou Monte and even a Hammond Organ jam! Give it a spin as you prep your house, apartment or hut for Turkey Day! happy Thanksgiving one and all!

Episodes 5,6 and 7 are on the air! Although Ep 5 was the Christmas episode so you may want to skip that one. Episode 6 has some Don Ho action and Episode 7 just has a bunch of fun stuff mixed in from Cugat to Dino to Esquivel!

Not sure if its on my side, but I'm getting a code of "cant be played because the file is corrupt" when I try to play the podcasts.

It should be good to go TropShop, I just checked it and all seems well. Give it another go.

Thanks Tiki-Brian, it's definitely a good time!
