Aloha everyone! I threw these on the potter's wheel and carved a foot in them. After I hand carve the coconut texture, I layered the inside with three layers of porcelain slip. Next, they're bisque fired. After that, 2-3 layers of glaze is applied on the inside, before putting them back in the kiln for a cone 10 reduction firing at 2300 degrees. The natural color of the clay decorates the surface, so you don't have to worry about glaze chips. These are very durable and superior quality ware. Dishwasher safe, but not microwave safe. Pair of (2) = $40 I've also got a four custom tiki mugs at eBay auction, ending Sunday night. Maori Warrior And, another Ku. Why wait until Black Friday or Small Business Saturday?
