No matter how hard I try, I cannot convince my wife to attend this event....

She did say I could go, but added not to return home if I chose to go.

I'm still considering the offer....:P

Glad you guys are enjoying the Burlesque show preview… Oxybeles, that's super funny…

The final girl that we'd like to feature from our The Hula Girls' Burlesque show is our other hula-a-go-go dancer, Miss Audrie Loraine! While she isn't performing burlesque at the show, she WILL be go-go-ing with The Hula Girls for the first hour of music!
See her, and the other eight dancers, with The Hula Girls on Feb 1st at Don the Beachcomber! It's gonna be one hell of a time! Tickets: http://www.thehulagirlsmusic.tix.com — with Audrie Loraine.

I'll have General Admission tickets for our burlesque show with me at the Surf Guitar Festival at The Starting Gate in Los Alamitos and at the Big Sandy show at Dons. Both shows are on Saturday. Get 'em while they're hot. $20

Tickets = purchased. Seems like Val and I are lining up a bunch of Don's dates. :)

See you at the show (Thanks Spike!!!)

Only a couple of seats left. Lots of room in the general admission section though!
Gonna be a great show!

THIS SATURDAY!

Bump! Two more days!!

So we went to Don the Beachcomber yesterday and took another look at the space for the seating. Due to high demand in the VIP seated area, we are making room for 20 more seats. They will be available on a 'first come, first served' basis at the door. $25 per seat. Doors to the showroom open at 8:00pm!!

Cocktails with miss Tara MiSioux in The Breezeway. See her, with 8 others, at The Hula Girls Burlesque Show at Don the Beachcomber, this Saturday night!!

Tonight! Tonight! Tonight! See 8 burlesque dancers shake their stuff to the LIVE music of The Hula Girls at southern California's most amazing vintage tiki establishment! The VIP area is sold out, but general admission tickets are still available at the door or at http://www.thehulagirlsmusic.tix.com

Miss Lydia DeCarllo, last night, in The Breezeway. She'll be dancing tonight!

Tonight!

Spike! Great job to all for a super fun night out
The place was packed, the band was tight, the girls were gorgeous
A nice air of naughtiness permeated Don's & reminded me of Tiki Oasis
before it went "Family Friendly"

Hope to see more shows like this in the very near future!

J

Thank you everyone for supporting us and making this show a success!!

Awesome show - all the good things ATP said. Thanks to Spike and the rest of the crew that put this show together. Val and I had a great time - we always love to come out to see The Hula Girls and the addition of the dancers and King Kukulele made for a fantastic all-around evening. And let's not forget the chance to hang out with a bunch of Don's regulars (and a late night trip to Turc's that I'm pretty sure happened but then things got fuzzy as the night wore on :D).

Photos!

The Hula Girls had 'em dancing, even back in general admission!

Who is that unmasked man?

Full sized versions are up on Flickr. (Check 'em out - the band shots look a little better blown up because I didn't get that close.)

THANKS KEVIN! great photos
Yes, we did bring a little Tiki back to Turq's after the Don's show
to finish off the night.

Well, the dust has settled and the rum and glitter has just about cleared out of my head. I would sincerely like to thank everyone who attended our first ever burlesque show! What an amazing crowd!

Thanks again to Judy Luck, Audrie Loraine, Neva Moore, Lydia DeCarllo, Olivia Bellafontaine, Tara MiSioux, Sheila Starr Siani, and Andrea Dillon. You ladies were all fantastic! I can't imagine a more fun show to play guitar in.

Thanks to DJ Shorty Poole for providing the perfect soundtrack to the pre and post show dance party.

The show simply wouldn't have been the same without the amazing and hilarious King Kukulele as the Emcee!

A giant thanks to Emerson and the whole staff at Don the Beachcomber. There has never been a better venue for what The Hula Girls do and a better backdrop for something like our burlesque show!

And of course, I have to thank my amazing band, Christian Kessler, Doug Sanborn, and the incomparable Gary Brandin! You guys are the best and most fun to play this stuff with.

There were a few kinks in the whole production, but we will surely have them ironed out for next time... If there is a next time... Would y'all like to do that again!? We sure would!

Hell yes! do it again!

T

I think that it should be done again and add some different dancers into the mix. Definite props to DJ for spinning the tunes beforehand. This could be the ying to the ITMP's yang :)

Though this may be way out of the control of the venue, but I liked the fact that a majority of people showed up wearing their finest. The Reverend Bamboo Ben would look pretty dapper in a suit (especially with the hair he was rocking that night).

I dressed down for the occasion TESP. Didn't want to take the show from everyone else.

Maybe next time I'll wear one of my hand painted Bamboo Ben suits.

Just gets better all the time, Chris...love the new intro.

I like how lots of people were dressed up as well. It's like we all knew that this was a special one...
