Dr. Zarkov’s Tiki Lounge Playlist: August 27, 2014

On this week’s show we took a decidedly determined detour to honor the annualized occasion of the Burning Man festival, taking place this week in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. The Dr. Zarkov’s Tiki Lounge radio show was created and broadcast for the first time in August 2002 at this festival over the Radio Free Burning Man radio station, celebrating its 20th year broadcasting to the denizens and debris of Black Rock City.

The show reappeared at the festival the following year and then in 2005 it migrated to Scotland to be heard at the 2005 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it was heard on Festival FM. After having found a permanent home here on Radio Fairfax starting in 2009, Dr. Zarkov’s Tiki Lounge returned to Burning Man in 2012 via prerecorded shows and has done so again this year,

This show is broadcast on Wednesdays, 5-6 pm EDT at: http://www.radiofairfax.org The show is broadcast live; no recorded shows are archived, but some listeners choose to record it on their computers to listen later. Radio Fairfax also can be heard on Tune In Radio at tunein.com, and streamed on smartphones by downloading the Tunein app. It also can be streamed on Roku and Google TV at: http://tinyurl.com/3uqfsz9
