Yes, that's right; the BATTT, the Bridge And Tunnel Tiki Tour, brought to you by the Te Aporo Nui and Kokoru Chapters of the Fraternal Order of Moai! Join us on a bus tour of some of the classic, original tiki establishments enjoyed by the bridge and tunnel crowds in the suburbs of NYC, including Jade Island, Lun Wah, Chan's, and Lee's Hawaiian Islander; all while benefitting families affected by Hurricane Sandy.

We are very proud to call the Paterson Habitat for Humanity Sandy fund our official charity!

Tickets to the BATTT will go on sale TOMORROW, September 12!

The cost to ride the BATTT will be $75, and will include:

--Bus transportation from the Doubletree George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee, NJ to four of the oldest, classic tiki establishments NJ and Staten Island have to offer, then back to the Doubletree.
--Further transportation to tropical paradise, through the sights and sounds provided by Primativa in Hi-Fi! (Check them out on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/primativa/)
--Intoxicating refreshments to enjoy while riding.
--Pupus and a cocktail at Lee's Hawaiian Islander, Lyndhurst, NJ.
--Some more fun surprises!

But wait, there's more!
When you buy your ticket, you will also be able to pre-order a t-shirt sporting the BATTT logo! Be sure to get yours tomorrow!

After you buy your ticket, you can book your room at the Doubletree George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee. I'll let you know how to do that tomorrow as well.

Here's what else to look forward to:
At the time of the tour, we will be selling raffle tickets to give you a chance to win some really awesome prizes! I'll wait for you to be surprised, but I will provide this teaser: prizes include items from Fashion Tramp, Deadhead Rum, and the private collections of some pretty discerning tiki lovers! Take my word for it..the stuff coming in is fantastic!!! And the best part: All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Paterson Habitat for Humanity's Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Project ( https://www.patersonhabitat.org/sandy-repair-rebuild-restore )

So, not only do you get the chance to go home with one (or more) of these awesome items, but you also get to feel good about having contributed to the rebuilding of some parts of NJ that were hard hit by Sandy. So, all the pleasure of new loot, with none of the guilt! WIN-WIN!!! Don't miss out! Plan to buy raffle tickets!

Gonna be at the Doubletree on Friday night? We will be there too! More on that later!

I think that's all for now. Stay tuned and get ready to ride the BATTT!

Once you get your ticket, book your room at the Doubletree:

A little about the hotel: The Doubletree GWB provides complimentary shuttle service to and from midtown NYC, so if you are interested in exploring New York during your stay, you can travel back and forth easily and at no extra cost! (more info here: http://doubletree3.hilton.com/resources/media/dt/FTLFLDT/en_US/pdf/en_FTLFLDT_shuttle_4editable_4Nov2013.pdf)

The hotel also has a great sushi restaurant, Sugi, as well as a continental restaurant, Cafe Milano.

Please don't book online; give them a call and ask for a room under "Bridge and Tunnel Tiki". Your rate should be $149 per night.

Please be sure to book your room before September 26! After that, the Doubletree cannot guarantee the $149 rate.

Now what are you waiting for! Go get those tickets before they fly away!

The BATTT is only a little more than 4 weeks away!!!!! We continue to prepare to fly, with the help of some fantastic sponsors!

It promises to be a great time, indeed! If you'd like to see some photos of our 2012 test flight, come see them on our Facebook page, here: https://www.facebook.com/BridgeAndTunnelTikiTour/photos_stream

Also, just some more info as you plan your flight on the BATTT: If you want to ride but can't stay at the hotel, just make sure you are at the Doubletree at 10:00 am on the 18th, and plan to get back at about 9:00 pm. If you're in NYC, take the complimentary shuttle that leaves the Hilton at 6th Avenue and 54th street at 9:00 am, and go back on either the 9:00 or the 11:30 pm return shuttle, depending on when the BATTT lands!

Aloha friends of BATTT!

While the BATTT was stretching its wings to get in shape for its big flight, it's supersonic hearing detected that there are some other fantastic events going on for Tiki and Exotica lovers in NYC on October 18, such as Otto's Shruken Head's 14th anniversary party, and Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica's NYC concert. The BATTT is a huge supporter of the Aloha Spirit, and hates to see anyone have to choose between such great opportunities. So, it is going to also perform TIME TRAVEL, and move the tour to Saturday, November 15, 2014! We hope that this will allow all to maximize their Tiki enjoyment this season!

Ticket prices and hotel reservation information will remain the same, and you will now have extra time to book your room at the Doubletree under our group code, "Bridge and Tunnel Tiki".

Already bought your ticket? Forghettaboutit! We gotcha covered! You've already got a ticket to ride on November 15th, or will have a full refund coming your way.

So, adjust your calendars and get your tickets now! http://fraternalorderofmoai.org/events/battt/
