East Bay area accommodations?

I will be up in the bay area this week, probably going through there on Monday on our way farther north. I am hoping to hot at least one of Forbidden Island, Longitude, Smuggler's Cove and Trader Vic's (Emeryville). I am looking for a recommendation of a nice, but not expensive, place to stay on the east side of the bay, preferably close to I-80. Any suggestions?

Pip, my wife and I stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Emeryville. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to Trader Vic’s-maybe a 20 minute drive to Forbidden Island. I would never recommend Smuggler’s Cove but there are a couple more tiki bars a short drive away in Berkeley. I forget the names right now.
