Wilrongo Dasiy

Hello new to site and I own a Wilrongo-Daisy art piece however my piece is stamped like others out there but also has the stamp under the original but upsidedown does this increase decrease the value?

This is right side up maybe the blotch is why they redid it upside down.

Can't imagine it would effect the value at all. Now if it had been a rare US Mint Wilrongo pressing that would be another story!

The main reason I asked is there are just a few of the pieces like mine i have found selling for $500-$995 and just curious of actual value but yes your statment helps me understand why people hate forums with people not answering questions but starting their own conversations for some reason.

on an appraiser who will just look at you funny (which is what I was saying)

doesn't mean it is worth that, one just like the Witco Daisy's you have, but in better shape
sold recently in Long Beach for $195.00, that's what it is worth.

to get an appraisal from someone who would say it was worthless, because they would not perceive it as
"Art of any value" which in context is true for most collectors of fine art, but not to us
as collectors of Mid Century Kitsch.

Hello, I'm back only to say goodbye.
Just to clear up some things, first I am not Tugwell1 sorry for the confusion ATP.
Second I know you think everyone on this forum knows you and obviously respects your opinions, but like my very first post states new to site and just wanting information on signature of value. So I don't know your credintials and you did come off kinda harsh, however after reading all these posts I agree with you it probably is a bad idea to get it appraised I have no idea of this type of material thats why I came to this site just for help.
As for the history of this piece it has been in our family since the 60's was my grandmothers after she died it became mine had it for a number of years and could never make out the signature and finally figured it out by taking a picture and turning it upside down then it was clear what it said.
I am a big boy and don't need you to change my diaper just use your awesome years of knowledge to help us out there who don't know anything about tiki art, but there is a certain level of respect and decorum that should be used by someone as respected as you are.
Never less I do respect even your first response to my question and hope this clears the air no bad blood:)

so you can compare yours to it.

Witco Art & furniture was originally sold as low cost decor up to the 1970s
and for many years really was not of much value, but the interest in the Jungle & Polynesian lines
by the very same Tiki & Mid Century modern collectors, right here on Tiki Central
has made it popular again, but many antique sellers, noticing the demand for Witco items
have been escalating asking prices for the brand (In my opinion) I have seen some ridiculous
asking prices on eBay the last year or two, but eBay is known for that these days.

You will find more information on Witco right here, just do a search for Witco
in the upper right hand corner under "SEARCH"

You will find much more knowledgeable experts then I, in bigbrotiki, Bosko
and a handful of hardcore collectors, right here on Tiki Central.
