eBay: Trader Vic's good luck fish - FIVE GRAND?!

Pages: 1 4 replies

Quote: "This Chinese good luck fish hung at the entrance to Trader Vic's restaurant in Seattle, greeting loyal customers for over 30 years and bringing good fortune to all who dined there."

...except for the fact that the luck apparently ran out.

Granted this one of those pieces that has some history
but not $5000.00 worth of history, at the very least it should depict an actual Tiki
sorry BuzDeadwax if this is your sale, but that is just asking a crazy amount
for this particular piece.

That and unless there is provenance for the piece it is very possible that it isn't what it claims to be.

T

Mine hangs in the Tiki bar in my house. Not sure if that gives it "provenance" or not. Or if that makes it worth 5 grand.

That reminds me of another thing, unless the work was commissioned only for Trader Vic's, odds are it was some piece of décor that was mass produced to the point that it could be one of thousands.
