  2. “April in My Heart,” composed by Helen Meinardi and Hoagy Carmichael, and taken from gorgeous gathering: The Quintessential Billie Holiday, Volume 6: 1938, featuring Teddy Wilson & His Orchestra, including Mr. Wilson on Piano, Lester Young on Tenor Sax, Benny Morton on Trombone, Edgar Sampson and Benny Carter on Alto Saxes, Al Casey on Acoustic Guitar, Henry James on Trumpet, Walter Page on Bass and Jo Jones on Drums.

  3. The 1939 recording of “New Year's Eve in a Haunted House” found on the righteous retrospective: The Music of Raymond Scott -- Reckless Nights and Turkish Twilights.

  4. Written by Louis Prima, “Jump Jive An' Wail” was waxed by The Brian Setzer Orchestra on their scintilacious CD: The Dirty Boogie, with Mr. Setzer assuming the Vocal and electrical Six-String duties.

  5. “What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?” composed in 1947 by Frank Loesser and found on the 1966 salubrious LP: Merry From Lena Horne, with the orchestra conducted by Jack Parnell.

  6. “Breakin' up the House,” recorded in 1994 by Buster Poindexter on his absorbent album: Buster's Happy Hour.

  7. “Saturnian Sleigh Ride,” waxed in 1957 by Shorty Rogers and His Giants for his 1958 long playing autobiographical interface: Portrait of Shorty, including Mr. Rogers on Flugelhorn, Lou Levy on Piano, Monte Budwig on Bass and Stan Levey on Drums.

  8. “Hulabilly Honey” from the copacetic compact disc: The Curse of the Tiki by The Hula Girls, with Spike Marble on Vocals and Electric Guitar, Gary Brandin on Steel Guitar, Lucas Vigor on Bass & Righteous Wrath, and Dominic Tucci on Drums.

  9. “When the World Was Young (Ah, the Apple Tree),” composed by M. Philippe Gerard and Johnny Mercer, and sung by the incomparable Nancy Wilson on her 1967 luxurious LP: Lush Life, Arranged by Oliver Nelson, spotlighting the talents of John Collins on Electric Guitar, Doug Trenner on Piano, Buster Williams on Bass and Shelley Manne on Drums.

  10. “June in January,” written by Ralph Rainger and Leo Robin and originally introduced by Bing Crosby in the 1934 movie: Here Is My Heart, recorded here by Benny Carter in 1958 for his seasonal spectacular: Aspects, featuring Mr. Carter on Alto Sax, Larry Bunker on Vibes, Bobby Gibbons on Electric Guitar, Joe Comfort on Bass and Shelly Manne on Drums.

  11. “Congratulations (Happy New Year)” found on Pink Martini’s canonical compact disc: Joy to the World, with Timothy Yuji Nishimoto and China Forbes on Vocals in Chinese and Dan Fahnele on Acoustic Guitar in Esperanto.

  12. Recorded in 1963, 'Round Midnight, the composition by Thelonious Monk and Bernie Hanighen, was sung by Sarah Vaughan and taken from her sassy CD: Sarah Sings Soulfully, featuring Teddy Edwards on Tenor Sax and Carmell Jones on Trumpet.

  13. “The Skaters Waltz,” the classic composed in 1882 by Émile Waldteufel and recorded in 1961 by the multi-reed master Roland Kirk With organist extraordinaire Jack McDuff for the labial LP: Kirk’s Work, with Joe Benjamin on Bass and Arthur Taylor on Drums.

  14. “Sing My Heart,” found on the Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Harold Arlen Songbook, which was recorded in 1960 and 1961, with the orchestra arranged and conducted by Billy May. This song was originally written by Arlen and Ted Koehler for the 1939 movie: Love Affair.

  15. “Till the Season Comes ‘Round Again” from our ultimate album: Maluhia by Keali’i Reichel, with string arrangements by Matt Catingub.
