I'm a fan and collector of Hawaiiana and tiki collectibles and decor and had this typewriter custom-ed to fit in with my barkcloth and rattan home. I thought it would be enjoyed here as much as I enjoy all the tiki items you all have posted over the years. I'm happy to remove the post if it's not considered appropriate. C |

Not necessary, but I would classify it as vintage (Mid Century due to it being a 1958 Royal Quiet Deluxe), Do you still use vintage typewriters or is it only for decor? [ Edited by: Atomic Tiki Punk 2015-03-03 19:42 ] |

I began collecting and reconditioning classic typewriters about a year ago and it's really caught my imagination. I love typing on them but don't use them for that. Arthritis isn't very compatible with them. People all over, with various passions for steampunk, industrial, mid-century, or in my case tropical, style find them to be great decor, and of course, you can bang out a book if you are so moved. As a writer, I love writing paraphernalia from the past. |
