Gift souvenirs of my home tiki bar, The Mo-Tiki. Created myself, first attempt. The how-did: modeled out of Sculpty, plaster mix got from Pearl Art Supply and I followed the directions on the box. Made a mold good enough to give to someone who poured the slip and then fired it up. Took the bisque to one of those storefront ceramic party places and painted garish glazes, then into the kiln and retrieved a week later. Only a year behind schedule! Rare artifact of a bygone era. Apparently one has been sold on Ebay. The model, built over a beer can. I'd love to create one myself one day. Maybe I'll give sculpting with some sculpty clay a try. Thanks for the hint about using a beer can to mold against! I have trouble forming nice cylinders. :wink:
