Hapa

Named for a term meaning "half-blood," the Hawaiian duo Hapa originally consisted of a native Hawaiian and an Irish-American guy from New Jersey. Keli‘i Kaneali‘i and Barry Flanagan produced a sound of such crystalline beauty and lushness you could almost feel the leeward winds of Maui when you heard it.

Kaneali’i has moved on to other endeavors and Flanagan, a guitarist of prodigious talents, now teams with vocalist Nathan Aweau with help from Hawaiian chanter and storyteller Charles Ka’upu and hula dancer Moea Defries. A second show has been added to what has been a hugely popular act in Santa Cruz. Bring your aloha spirit and let the music take you to a Hawaii of the mind.

My Ohana will be at the 5:00 show. I hear it is going to be quite a show with lots of hula! Sorry for the short notice this one kinda slipped in under the radar.
