Looking for any ideas about this chair - Collecting Tiki

Looking to mind meld with those versed in the art of fine tiki. I have a chair I call it a chair but it is more of a throne. I purchased a few years back. I have only the information that I got from the individual I acquired it from. The provenience I have is it was owned by a high ranking military officer that was in command of some of the bases in the Polynesian islands during WWII. It was gifted to him by a chief of that island (unknown which one) which could date it back to the early to mid 40's or later. The chair is bent rattan with a slight green /brown stain The weave is magnificent and tight (there is one place where the weave has broken and a small piece is missing but the weave is so tight that it has not unraveled the headpiece is a hard dark wood (could be ebony or similar epscies) and has very fine and well placed gouge marks and there is an inlay on front anc back that appears to be puapua. and a different wood. The chair dimensions are: 38 w x31.5 deep x 55.5 h Wooden headrest panel 1.25 thick x 5.75 x 11.5 seat and back 8.4 W at the top seat rattan thickness 1.5" No one has really been able to offer any suggestions other then what I know sounds like it could be correct. I did send the images to a well known "rattan dude" and he thought it was a very interesting piece and had never seen anything like it. so now commence with the mind meld.. any ideas?
