was anyone here bidding?

T

Did not see them.
Pictures?

Was the sale from Ohio?

Not everybody watches eBay that much.

WOW !!!

T

Those are cool.
Who was the seller?

OA used to sell pole kinda like that.

N

"These came from local estate sale put on by brother/sister of deceased, their sister had a basement decorated in Hawaiian theme and she had purchased these poles along with few other items (spiked blow fish, glass floats in nets, numerous mugs/bowls and ect) at the Kahiki restaurant auction in Columbus, Ohio"

i won them, was just wondering if i was bidding against anyone here or who was bidding against me

To deep for my pockets :D

"at the Kahiki restaurant auction in Columbus, Ohio"

That could be but I was at all of the sales, auctions and even some sales that
were not public.
And I was at all of them first.
But some of the stuff was sold before the sale went on, not much though.
So this could be from there.

Some of the time this stuff was obtained in ways that people do not want to admit to
so you never know.

Was the seller something like blder3?

I saw these, and was thinking of bidding until the $$ got way crazy.

I think they were laithe-carved by OA, they look consistent with a lot of their poles.

The seller got them from the estate sale; their other items were typical garage-sale type stuff. No reason to believe they didn't come from the Kahiki imho.

Congrats nomeus! Wish my tiki allowance was that big! :) Someday I will find a Kahiki piece that won't cost a kidney..

"Someday I will find a Kahiki piece that won't cost a kidney"

Well it never has gone for low money.
I did get a few deals, but the good stuff I wanted had to pay up for it.

Not collecting at this time unless I find something for low money and that
does not happen often.

I do understand now that I think of it why nobody wants to say who the seller was
in case they have more to sell, did not think of that.

"The seller got them from the estate sale"
I must have missed that one.
Was wondering where the estate sale owner got them.
Lots of Kahiki stuff fell through the cracks so it's interesting to see stuff that
you know was from early Kahiki.

At the end of the last night party you could see spots on the walls where a tiki item was
and had been lifted as there was a clean outline of the thing that was once there.

How the "Quite Village" sign made it's way to Hawaii we may never know.

Was not trying to say these were not Kahiki.

Congratz!

I know you weren't skip. Was just offering my opinion also. Seller's name was xdealt. They are in Gahanna I think; you could probably pm them about the estate. I wouldn't mind knowing more details too..

T

I don't hunt that stuff any more.
Was wondering if I would recognize the seller that's all, I don't.

We did go and meet up with Bob Karst and his wife as they were selling off their
Kahiki like furniture, stuff was mint as it was in their house.
They got this stuff the same time the Kahiki did at the open date.

Talking to them was fun, well mostly his wife.
I think she said she was a Mystery girl at one time, She was not Asian as some
had said all the girls were, nor was the girl on the record Jeff put out.
Dam come to think of it I don't know if I have ever seen an Asian girl at Kahiki.

BUT there is stuff on the early photos I have that is gone and was gone long ago.
Would like to find that stuff.
