Back in '06, Tiki Farm did a series of "Hawaiian Idols" mugs with THOR: Jack Lord "Book Um Dano", Elvis "Da King", Don Ho "Ho-Waiian Don", and Tom Selleck "P.I.".

$563?!?! That's insane. I always liked the concept of that series and how well they were executed. One of the few stylized mugs that I really liked at the time. I bought them new, but I remember a few years later, you could pick them up at Tiki Farm for $5 a piece. Should have bought all the leftover stock back then.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s an awesome mug and I proudly display it in my collection.
But $500? Another sold for $250 yesterday . Just curious what’s driving the price.

Whoa! Never saw those prices coming...
I bought the full set back when they came out. Magnum has the smallest opening on his head so we never poured a drink in him.
The wife keeps Elvis in the case at Don's so he get's regular use.

Perhaps the announced Magnum reboot has reminded people that "hey, I used to like that show" and one google search later and "oh hey, that's neat, and I have disposable income"? Just a thought.

I had dozens of these for a few years here at the shop back after they just came out.. I marked them down to almost cost at one point cuz they just wouldn't sell.. Elvis was the most popular and then Book 'um Dano and I think I still have a few in boxes in the garage of Don Ho that I had a hard time moving.
What I use to think was just crazy being paid for a mug is now actually on the cheaper end most of the time, especially on themed typed mugs and of course Disney..
