RIP The Tropicana

They closed The Tropicana!?! To build a frikken sports stadium. Used to love seeing Sam Butera of the Louis Prima show singin and swingin at the Atrium Lounge. Giant Easter Island tikis out front. Those TV commercials with the Caribbean guy saying "It's Las Vegas, mon." The Vegas of my dreams is fading fast...

This is a real bummer. I stayed at the Tropicana in February 2020 (before the world ended) for a quick first trip to Vegas. I wish I'd gone to see Rich Little there, but he was supposed to on tour in Colorado a month later, so I was waiting till then to go with family.

My room was in the back tower, which I most remember having a lovely floral scent that must have been pumped into to air system.
