Opened in the Montrose area of Houston in June, 2025, this is a "Dark Tiki"-themed venue that bills itself as "somewhere between death and vacation." You'll agree, when you finally find your way into this speakeasy tiki bar through the doors of Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse Pizza. There's a fair amount of off-street parking in the back of the business (be careful to turn into the correct driveway), and if you can plan ahead, make a reservation for a high-top, booth or table. Once inside, you'll be entranced by the found-art table lamps, composition creatures in the faux aquarium and the mesmerizing galaxies passing through the video screens, all eerily bathed in blacklight. At your table, the mini-photo album menu details their nearly twenty crafted cocktails which include house-made pistachio orgeat for their signature Mai Tai; a Brown Butter Rum Old Fashioned with brown butter fat washed Planteray and Smith & Cross; and the Banana Hammock, which comes topped with banana foam, just to name a few.
