Well it's that time of year when you get to spend 3 night's drinking, listening to music, and gambling all in the same night. My husband and I are going and were wondering if any TC'ers will be going? We will be there Thursday- Sunday (Sept. 25th). Thursday night at the Taboo Cove and the rest of the nights at the concert at The Gold Coast Casino. Viva.

My wife and I are going too. It's gonna be a blast. Unfortunately I don't know times yet, but we're meeting some people by the Gold Coast bar next to the escalator sometime Fri afternoon.

Damn I wish I was going! When I went to the Mondo Tiki event this year I ended up spending most of my time at Viva Las Vegas.
Ladies dressed in their Rockabilly attire are soo hot!!!!

I wasn't going, but now I am! So kids-- find me out there. I'm leaving TOMORROW, so if you want to find me out there, call this number, which I will somewhat disguise here:

(typical San Fran area code), three nines, three sixes, then a nine.

I also think it'd be fun to meet up with some TCers (and Futura, we'd love to see your place), but it's gonna be real tough this time since our movements for most of the weekend are connected to the people we're with.

But if anybody plans anything, especially in the daytime since the evenings are all music, we'd love to hear about it. We're reachable at the Gold Coast under my name Randy Jensen. Also the Saturn V organ player knows us and TC.

Can't wait to meet up. When? Where? Maybe Friday. It is so fun.. We have been going to the Las Vegas Grind since the first one. There is usually a bit of tiki.

Hulahula, I don't think a TC meet up happened, although we did get to say hello to Futura Girl and CB Howlie when they stopped by the Gold Coast briefly on Sat. Actually, we had no car and practically never left the Gold Coast the whole weekend. We did manage to amble across the street to the Rio for a change of pace food-wise. Wanted to use their superior aquatic facilities too, but apparently they require key cards to get in the pool area now.

Bumped into a couple from Chicago and the Exotica event (if you read this, I forgot your names, dangit), and talked a few times to Patrick the uber-hipster from Santa Cruz and formerly Chicago. Also many Gorilla X sightings, both in and out of costume, including romps with the burlesque acts and with the Saturn V doing Go Go Gorilla. Word was that Penn Jillette came by to see Los Straitjackets on Sat nite, but I didn't hear about any other celebs.

Didn't get to see Dulcie Younger, since the schedule had her on the side stage at the exact same time as the Neanderthals on the main stage, who we couldn't miss. Great (exhausting) weekend!

i spoke with hula hula b4 we saw you guys and he wasn't feeling so well. but it was great seeing you and mig...

btw mig how is your friend jeff? he decided to stay at rain while we headed up to the ghost bar. did he survive the night?

I'm gonna be in Vegas Thursday and Friday nights, Oct. 23 and 24, and will be searching for paradise in the desert.

bummer - we won't be up here that one weekend...
