I wrote little reviews for some of my favorite space-age books. Not tiki but I think a lot of people here may enjoy these if you havent seen them already.

Hanford,

Some nice writn' there. That "Computer" book looks very interesting. My Dad worked on the microchip development program for IBM way back when. I still have one of the early models embedded in lucite as a paperweight. It's about the size of a quarter and has less power than you average toaster.

DANG! What happened to the future? Why the frig is my flying car and vacation on the moon? Why does my future look more and more like the jibbersh filled, acid-rain soaked type?

I second your review of the "Future Perfect" book - it's great. My only disappointment is that it's a small format book with pictures across the gatefold. They deserve a better presentation.

But there's tons of great stuff in there. My favorite image is of a 50's housewife standing in her kitchen shopping over a 2-way TV - the internet! Outside the window in the background her child dashes in from a terrible rainstorm. Classic.

Here's some other good "retro-future" books:

These pics are just too cool, so I'm posting a few here:

Look! I'm shopping on the internet!

Mega-Flying-Gargantu-Boat. What could go wrong?

Hey, whatever happened to the in-home projection systems we were prom....oh, wait.

One sweet ride.

"Quick! I have get the car re-painted before my husband sees it! Let me see if I have enough change..."

And where are all the flying tanning beds we were promised?

I'd live in that house.

Are those things mating?
