Aloha!

Quimby’s bookstore in Chicago's Wicker Park will host a "Tiki Quest" booksigning and Tiki party on Friday, October 24th at 7:30pm. Duke Carter will be on hand to sign copies of "Tiki Quest: Collecting the Exotic Past." The evening will also feature a special performance from The Barefoot Hawaiians (www.barefoothawaiian.com), a hula troupe from Des Plaines, IL that regularly performed Friday and Saturday night shows at the legendary O’Hare Marriott Kona Kai.

The event at Quimby's will also mark the debut of the official "Tiki Quest" tiki mug! Hand-crafted by Munktiki and designed collaboratively by Duke and Paul at Munktiki, the mug pays homage to the carvings of tiki visionary Andres Bumataty. This limited edition mug is still in production, and the first batch will be available only at the event. For more information (and a preview of the mug), please check in at http://www.pegboardchicago.com/tcintro.html

Quimby’s (www.quimbys.com) is Chicago's coolest independent bookstore, specializing in underground books, comics, small press titles, graphic novels, 'zines, art and erotica. It is located at 1854 W. North Ave. in Chicago.

Please help us spread the word.

Hope to see you there!
