Aloha Everyone!

Aloha,

I just moved here to California from Oahu. I was surfing the web and came across this interesting site. I am crazy about collecting Polynesian artifats, especially tiki's, kava bowls, and fine mats. I had read a few posts by some of the members and everyone seems so friendly.

Mahalo,

Welcome aboard teine_tiki!
A big jump from Hawaii to Long Beach.
A lot of cool TCers live down your way.
I hope to see you at the next So Cal tiki crawl (when=?).

That OC Crawl/Smackdown is tentatively scheduled for sometime in the future...(say February for Bong's Birthday)

Welcome aboard!

Its great to see more Long Beach Tiki Freaks!

Aloha,
I am not familiar with the Long Beach area yet. I live near the downtown area by the beach. When is the next tiki event?

MtKahuna: Are there a lot of Pacific Islanders here in Long Beach?

Teine,
No just me and my family.....
Jus Kidding. Yes, there are quite a few Islanders in the South Bay. Many reside in Carson, Gardena, Long Beach, or Oceanside.

In fact, there are more Samoans in SoCal than there currently are on the island.

To meet other islanders, check the Hawaiian Civic's Club, The Office of Samoan Affairs, or The Pacific Islander Association. There is always an event going on.

Although, Tiki Central is the BEST place to meet hard core tiki enthusiasts. :tiki:

MT- you ever been to Bob's?

Aloha Everyone,

I am slowly catching on to the Long Beach lifestyle. I miss the surf, pigeon talk, shorts, and aloha spirit. I will adjust and be strong.

MT: Where are you from? I have been so busy unpacking. I feel like a loner out here on the mainland. Most of my family live in San Francisso and Hawaii. I took your advice and did some research about Pacific Islanders in Long Beach. Very Interesting! I am a lost afakasi looking for her peoples. I will definitely be there at the next SoCal event. I want to start expanding my collection.

Mahalo,
