I was surfing the web and came across this interesting site. I am crazy about collecting Polynesian artifats,especially tiki's, kava bowls, and fine mats. Yes, there are quite a few Islanders in the South Bay. Many reside in Carson, Gardena, Long Beach, or Oceanside. In fact, there are more Samoans in SoCal than there currently are on the island. To meet other islanders, check the Hawaiian Civic's Club, The Office of Samoan Affairs, or The Pacific Islander Association. There is always an event going on. Although, Tiki Central is the BEST place to meet hard core tiki enthusiasts. :tiki: Mahalo

I miss the surf, pigeon talk, shorts, and aloha spirit. I will adjust and be strong. MT: Where are you from? I have been so busy unpacking. I feel like a loner out here on the mainland. Most of my family live in San Francisso and Hawaii. I took your advice and did some research about Pacific Islanders in Long Beach. Very Interesting! I am a lost afakasi looking for her peoples.
