Saw this on eBay (not mine) and thought TCers would like to see it. I don't believe I've spoiled anyone's bargain hunting :). Check out the supersize photo of the paddles - very nice. Anyone out there have similar?

$3000 to open with an even higher reserve? If I were gonna hand out that kinda green, I'd have a tiki from every one of the carvers on this board. And be lots happier about it too.

You can buy the real thing from Oceanic Arts for 600.00.

Unfortunatelly, the hulls of the OA outriggers, are fiberglass now. LeRoy said that the wood ones they were getting from Somoa kept getting worse and worse, and shipping costs were going too high, so they finally cast a good one. OA ...greatest place on earth, I truelly felt like I was in heaven there. I got to see LeRoy poundin' away on a pole in the back, I thought i was watching God create the world.

I would just love to meet the man...He is to me what Johnny Unitas is to a football player or Audie Murphy is to a soldier...the all-time-great.
