Information wanted on the Suffering Bastard Mug

I was hoping that I could get some detailed info on the elusive Suffering Bastard.
As far as I know they were made in 1942 and were available via mail order from Trader Vic's. Is this accurate and can anyone eloborate...
How long were they in production, quality of finish/glaze, etc.

Well, I don't know how long they produced them, but we found out recently that the decanters were called Mai Tai Joe and had 6 year old Matinique rum in them. Here's a photo from and ebay auction that I posted in my tiki gallery.
