translates as
Kani = to sound
Kaniai = the throat.

At the last Luau we had, I greeted guests at the door with name tags with their names in Hawaiian on them. They had to wear them to gain entry and they had to call eveyone by their proper Hawaiian names while at the party. With each Mai Tai the names became a little harder to say. Everyone got a kick out of it. Mine was easy...Kana :drink:

Peleke is pretty easy to say. I like some of the odd names listed:

Euphemia - Eupemia
Ghazaleigh - Kahakaleikehe
Griselda - Kalikela
Hythum - Hikumo
Myrtieanne - Mikieane

I can't see much call for some of these names, but there's not much call for Frederick, either.

Wow! I've never seen my name on a shot glass let alone translated into Hawaiian!
