Orchids of Hawaii R-14 bowl question

Do older Orchids of Hawaii scorpion(?) bowls have a dark finish all over - that is to say that the three men match the bowl itself - or does the bowl have a lighter, less glossy finish? I think the designation on the one of which I am asking is R-14...the one with three figures of men supporting a triangular bowl.
