Hi. I've been carving little minature tiki's for about 4 months. Anyway, I was working on one at school before Christmas (I'm a High School teacher) and some kids took some real interest. One kid bought a little carving kit and tried his own (although he stopped after a nice slice down his thumb!). Today I noticed a little Tiki figure in our school's art disply case another ex-student of mine made. Sweet...

As a Boy Scout I earned the Woodcarving merit badge at age 10. Whenever we had a kid get a big cut while working with the wood we would give them a special award:
"Fingercarving merit badge"
