Tiki hut "bookshelves"???

Okay, so I'm redoing my bedroom. I've been in Hawaiian over-drive mode ever since we came back Maui. I have a mural my mom painted on my wall, a papisan chair, and hibisscuss flowers on my bedspread. it's great, all except for my bookshelves, which stand out against my tropical holiday colored walls. so i had a great idea to make them look like a tiki hut. we already have the roof frame in place and the sides covered in bamboo shades. But we have no idea what to put for the roof covering! Can anyone give us any ideas?????
