Sam Butera

Known for leading the Louis Prima band in the '60's, Sam Butera is also the
author of the famous swing tune Jump, Jive and Wail. Sam, with his
distinctive sax playing and his powerful vocals, has thrilled
millions via performances from Las Vegas' major showrooms to
the famed Copacabana in New York City. In 1954 Sam joined Louis Prima and
Keely Smith in Las Vegas, and the rest is musical history.
Falkirk's Fat Sunday Free Concert is on Sunday, August 25th from 1 - 6pm.
The concert begins at 1:00 with the Natural Gas Jazz Band, followed by a
parade and performance at 2:30 led by Brass Monkey Brass Band and the On the
Dance Floor dancers. Finishing the show, Sam Butera and the Wildest will
take the stage at 4:30. Bring a blanket to sit on the lawn - short-back lawn
chairs allowed on the rear lawn only.
