I'm very sad to report that Ray Condo has died from a sudden heart attack yesterday while on tour. I don't have more info yet, I heard about it on a rockabilly group.

He was an incredible performer and we will miss him greatly. Luckily I recently saw him perform at Bimbo's with Big Sandy after his long absence from the stage.

God bless Ray! We'll miss him!

HOLY CRAP!
This is awful news... I'm sorry I never got to see him play live.
Why can't we be releived of someone like Fred Durst, Li'l Kim or Justin Timberlake?

A memorial will be held in Vancouver this Sunday, April 25th. More info here:

A memorial is also in the works at the 23 Club in Brisbane, CA (South of San Francisco) sometime in May. Proceeds from this event will directly benefit the Ray Condo memorial fund to help pay his funeral expenses.

Thanks for the info Jab,
Do ya think you could give an update on the proposed gathering at DeMarco's 23? I'd love to attend.
aloha,

That's sad. I am glad I got to see him perform twice. First Ronnie Dawson and now Ray Condo....whatta bummer.

I'll post more info as soon as I hear more. I have a contact email if any bands would like to possibly play at the event.

I just went and saw Big Sandy and BR5-49 at the Galaxy last Thursday night. They mentioned a benefit for Ray happening at the Derby in LA. I forgot the date but I'm gonna try and figure out when it's going on.

A few words about Ray by Buddy Blue in yesterday's U.T. http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20040429/news_lz1w29blue.html
