Little Coco Joe Tiki...

Pages: 1 4 replies

My friend's dad recently passed away... he had a keychain collection that my friend went through and he found what he called a tiki. He gave it to me last week... sure enough, it is a Tangaroa tiki. I recently used it for inspiration for a carving. The little tiki has a metal loop on his head so I made it into a necklace. It has fake gemstones for eyes. On the bottom it reads "Lava" and "Coco Joe Hawaii..."

What might be the age of this tiki, or is it fairly new?

Looks like older variety CoCo Joes to me.
Cool little piece.
Aloha,

Very nice! There is one without the gems at the top of page 169 of Tiki Quest. I believe it is an earlier piece, you don't see many of those.

I'll open up more competition to obtaining one of these be saying that about a year ago I was outbid on one of these with blue eyes, and about 6 months ago I was really bummed by getting outbid on one that had PURPLE eyes! Ugggh!

Oooooooo...purrrrrrple......

Blue or Purple eyes.... Sweet!

I'm not considering selling this, (plus my friend would kill me since it was a keepsake of his father's) but SugarCaddy what was the price of the outbid if you don't mind revealing?

PM me if you'd like... or post up here.
Just curious...
Mahalo!
