I hope the pool water is hot.
I hope the rum tastes like crayons.
I hope the music is 80s pop.

Nah, just kidding.

Have fun - I'm drinking a Beachbum's Own in your absence.

I gotta know who won the Zombie contest though.

I'm actually reading this from somewhere near Tiki Oasis, my house. I had to take a break from the heat. It's been fantastic so far. I really just went for the shopping, but I've met a lot of great people today. I'm heading back in a couple of hours for the evening festivities.

I'm not hung over.
The rum is lovely.
The music is exotic.
I got four Shag mugs from M Modern Gallery.

Wish you were here too. It's been very nice to finally put faces to so many the names I know from TC.

I attended Tiki Oasis for the last two years
but I couldn't attend this year! Dagnabit all!! At least I got to see one of my favorite bands, Southern Culture on the Skids, at Graceland in Seattle last night. Oh, did I mention I hired 5 teenagers in Palm Springs to visit the Caliente Tropics last thursday and pee in the pool. Plus they has asparagus for dinner. Can you tell i'm bitter?

I don't think they would have been the first. We spotted a fellow (a non-tikiCentralite) who I was convinced was doing this. He was sitting on the edge of the pool from morning til night, both days, with his friends bringing him drinks constantly... and every once in a while he'd wade in about waist-high for a minute or two. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

When we left the pool at the end of the day on Sunday, it was totaly discolored and murky. I think the water was about 10-40 weight by then. Lots of booze, sunblock, and wee-wee will do that to a pool. Hope they just drain it and start over, before the single cell organisms start to evolve.

This reminds me of a story Mig's mother was telling me over the weekend. Several years ago, Mig's family was on vacation and one afternoon the hotel lifeguard approached his mother and said, "Madam, your son is peeing in the pool."
Mig's mom replied, "So what, all kids do that from time to time."
To which the lifeguard exclaimed, "But from the diving board?!?!!"
That's our Mig!
