Tiki Central / Collecting Tiki

Lots of cheap mugs??

Pages: 1 12 replies

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to Tiki Central, so forgive me if this question is common knowledge...

I'm throwing a Tiki party for my wife's birthday (the big three-oh!!) and there should be between 25-35 people there. Is there anywhere I could order a whole bunch of cheep tiki mugs? Just some simple plastic ones would be fine.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Tiki Objects by Bosko (look in the links on this site) has 12 plastic mugs for $12 (by Trader Dutch).

Thanks Velveteenlounge, those look great. I'm writing from Milwaukee and trying to find tiki stuff, especially bamboo is nearly impossible. I just signed up with Tiki Central, and I had no idea of the size of the tiki subculture! I am definately hooked!

I'm pretty new to it all, too, and am also hooked! It's not easy to find bamboo and such here in suburban New York, either, so I feel you pain. Best of luck with your party!

Also have a look at http://www.dynastywholesale.com

more money, but they're not plastic.

thanks Zombified. a bit more expensive, true. but if i buy a case it's just a bit more a dozen than the plastic ones. only thing is, after our party is over, i don't think i really need 3 dozen ceramic mugs. but wait... i could make this an annual event to justify the cost to my wife!! now we're talkin!

You could always let your guests take the mugs home as party favors.

If you don't mind plastic, Big Lots has pretty decent plastic tiki mugs for 79 cents each.

Or, as Dawntiki said, Party Favors!
or... I have a 1/2 dozen "green zombie" and 1/2 dozen bamboo mugs that I use for everyday needs. Everything from BBQ's with the family to small gatherings of friends on the patio to filling one up with a Coke to go with pineapple covered pizza watching bad TV ... you name it. If an evening is worth lighting up some torches, then it's worth real mugs. And because they're cheap, you don't have to worry about breakage.

thanks Kono. a new Big Lots is opening up very close to home, i just wonder if a store in Milwaukee will have the same stock as one in Orlando. plastic is not what i want, but i need lots of them pretty cheaply. but i am definately begining to collect my own set of mugs for personal use.

big thanks to everyone! i've been registered to this sight for literaly a few hours and i can't believe how many people are willing to help out some guy they've never met just because they both like tiki!! i am so happy to be part of this, you will see many massages from me in the future, including pics of the tiki party i'm throwing, and all the things i've had to build to make it happen. you guys (and gals) are great!

Our local Big Lots had the plastic mugs, so there is a good chance yours will, too, plus no shipping!

Big Lots also has a bunch of other tiki party items from some neat ceramic stackable tiki candles to hula skirts to an inflatable tiki beer cooler to tiki patio party light etc etc. They're on the tackier side but still cool. The candles are very cool and not tacky.
