T

SP,

Not far off as the Ha'amonga trilithon in Niutoua, Tongatapu is very "Stonehengist". A description in Patricia Ledyard "The Tongan Past" is as follows:

"This great triliton which stands close to the present village of Niutoua resembles a single unit of Stonehenge and is one of the most interesting archaeological remians in the Pacific. Standing seventeen feet high, the archway faces north and south while the lintel piece extends almost due east-west". Scientists believe that it was built in much the same way as the pyramids and Stonehenge were-by erecting ramps of earth up which the stones were dragged".

Theres more but I got to get back to work.

soooo......I might now be so far off afterall! interesting!
