Bamboo Island, Pleasanton Ca

Has anyone out there been too/ heard of Bamboo Island in Pleasanton Ca ?
I happened by the place yesterday and was quite surprised to be "greeted" by 2 life size tikis. I had heard of the restaurant, but had also heard it "wasn't Tiki" True, to a point. It has more of a neo-Tropical vibe than a true Neo-Tiki vibe. However, the Tikis and drinks served in Tiki mugs do give it a certain Tipsy factor - pehaps more so than a lot of places often mentioned in Tikicentral.
By the way, the drinks were pretty good and the bar apps (esp the Kulua Pork Quesadilla) was excellent. Mrs Conga Mike and I will be back for dinner some time soon-their Menu looks killer- and will report back.
They were playing Hawaiian music in the dining room and we were told that they have live entertainment (Tahitian dancers/steel drum bands) on the weekends.
In the meanwhile, just wondering if anyone one else has checked it out...

Haven't checked it out - but probably will give it a whirl. Looks pricy hopefully the drinks are worth it.

Have to admit that I've only been back once since. Wasn't that excited about it.

Thanks Martiki.
I did a search earlier but came up empty handed.

So not worth a second visit, hey?We didn't stay for too long, but I was impressed by their aps and cocktails. Citysearch descibes their Mai Tai as "best in the East Bay". Although I beg to differ, it is not unlike the multi-juice Mai Tais you get in Hawaii (I guess they're trying to be more Hawaiian than "Trader Vics" Tiki) Their dinner menu seemed interesting.

I did like the food, but thought the cocktails were poor. They may very well have improved in the last two (cough!) years.

Citysearch is clearly retarded.
