Did you notice in the tiki gallery that there were two Mai Tiki carvings. I thought that was a little weird that they made it all the way to Hawaii.

'course, to be fair, gotta mention:
we amelicans commit the same, uh.. offense when we wear t shirts and sport shirts with seemingly random katakana symbols all over the fabric. thinking we look exotic...
a popular style of "aloha shirt" lately for a while is the very oriental looking dragon graphic with kanji and katakana words scattered about...

...and the Americans who will get anything tatooed to them in Japanese/Chinese characters.

i love asking "What do you think your tattoo says?" Followed by a "Well, here's what it really says..."

Like the brittish guy with the chinese characters for "At the end of the day, this is an ugly boy"

hell, even some non word, graphic design only tattoos speak loudly and also say :
"at the end of the day this is another ugly boy!"

among many others, i will never understand the appeal of a mad skowling clown tattoo...
