Tiki Ashtray - Maida's Bambu Village, Salinas, CA

Pages: 1 4 replies

I've come across an ashtray from Maida's Bambu Village in Salinas, CA. It's clear green glass color with palm trees in the design painted on the bottom. Looks like from the 50's or 60's probably. Anybody collect these things? Anybody know anything about this joint?

O

Old posts never die - their images just fade away . . . .

Here is a description of Maida's Bamboo Village from a book about the history of the Salinas Police Department:

"The infamous Maida's, torn down to make way for county offices, was a notorious strip joint where the girls inside cages would dance topless."
