update: pollo del mar's new cd

Pages: 1 4 replies

Pollo Del Mar's latest, "The Golden State" - their smokin'est, sassiest, most sopisticated and
sexiest surf album yet, is now available directly from their site:

That's actually my wife, Monica "the Tiki Goddess" as the "mermaid" on the front, back and inside covers. I plan on hosting a release party in Thrillville at the Parkway (Oakland CA) later this summer, featuring the band live on stage, stay tuned for updates. http://www.thrillville.net

Ahhh, this is good news. Pollo gets steady airtime at my pad. Thanks for the heads up Aquazombie, judging by the cover, it looks like you caught yourself a fine mermaid. I will have to visit the mart and oick this one up. The mp3 previews on the site sound very cool.

I finally booked that CD release party I promised - but it's not till Thursday,November 18, in Thrillville at The Parkway Speakeasy Theater in Oakland CA
(www.speakeasytheaters.com) - it's billed as the PSYCHOTRONIC SEA SHOW. Pollo will perform a live 30 minute or so set as "Horror of Party Beach" plays silently on the screen behind them onstage (with CDs on sale in the lobby, Monica will be happy to sign 'em too!). Folllowing the performance there'll be a 90 minute 16mm film show of various 16mm marine-themed shorts, from Gerry Anderson's 60s "supermarionaton" series STINGRAY to an undersea episode of ULTRA MAN, scoptiones, cartoons, commercials, and more. $7
Stay tuned for updates here or:

For those paying attention, the Pollo del Mar appearance at the Parkway Nov 18 has been moved up a week to NOVEMBER 11, 9PM. The rest of the PSYCHOTRONIC SEA SHOW remains the same. Stay tuned to http://www.thrillville.net for more updates.

For those still deciding whether to pick up this CD I'm posting this link to a great review Ferenc just sent me:
