Hello everybody, I am pretty new to this site and very impressed with the amount of art, communication and information on this here place. I 've been diggin' polynesian pop and oceanic art since I can remember but I have full embraced my passion for it only for a few years (finally pushing art school teachings of pop is bad outta my head) I am definitely more comfortable with a brush, but recently I picked up a chisel and mallet and began carving. I will post my experiments soon, but here a few paintings, please let me know what you think.
Mahalo and bright moments,
Wushu

this my Ki'i akua of Willendorf done with charcoal, acrylics and spray paint 37.5" x 48"

Welcome aboard Wushu,
Nice work. I like the rough, vernacular style of your backgrounds. Especially on the Rock-A-Hula gal.
Aloha,
:tiki:

I painted this after seeing Blue Hawaii for the first time a few months ago. Man, Elvis could make song about anything. Great movie.

Wushu, good to see you back man, love the Kava Kava piece especially the colors, checked out your site and was blown away by your work. Would love to see you do a John Lee Hooker or SRV piece to go with your blues series. Would like to get one of your tiki pieces as much as you want to be in Juxtapoz, I loved Tiki2. Keep doing your style very fresh and orginal.
