I bought a nifty little device at the discovery store. It was $30 marked down to $2.99. You record a message and there is a motion sensor that plays the message back when someone gets near it.

I have a large Moai from spencers and I was thinking about recording some kind of talking Tiki voice clip.

I had a recording of the preshow outside of the old TIKI room at disneyland. I can't find it now, but they say stuff like "I am **** god of *****" with drums and stuff in the background.

I was trying Google to see if the Easter Island Moai were some specific god. I couldn't find anything about that. I could make something up. Like "I am Moai god of Mai Tai's... Burp"

Maybe even a Deep "Aloha" would go ok. I was hoping that someone would have a desktop theme with lots of TIKI sound files or an archive of lines from Tiki movies or narations from a Lu'au.

Thank You
_ Jay

Suggest going to library and checking out all their Hawaiian, Tahitian, etc. music CDs -- some of the older ones are bound to have a 30-sec. clip of just pure thunderous drumming with yips and shouts from the drummers in the background, and perhaps that might work.

the first thing that comes to mind is in the PlayStation game Crash Bandicoot (the original version) when you grab the Aku Aku mask, it lets out a quick "Ooddaa Boooga" I think with some quick drums in the background. I've always thought that sound bite was the best part of the game. If you don't have a PS, you might find the sound sample on a fan site.

Just my 2 Z's

try this site. on the first page, move your cursor over the mask and it'll play the sound bite I was talking about (though lower quality)

Moai are believed by most archaeologists to represent the spirits of ancestors, chiefs, or other high-ranking males who held important positions in the history of Easter Island, or Rapa Nui, the name given by the indigenous people to their island in the 1860s.

Check it again, Brother, if you get a chance. I just was there seconds ago and it lives!
