Another vote here for the Imperial Palace. You can't do much better in Las Vegas as far as the combination of location and price goes. It's a little worn-out compared to the newer strip properties, but that's part of its charm if you ask me. Plus not only is there the aforementioned tiki-decorated buffet (go for the surroundings--the food is not very good), put there's also the Mai Tai Bar, complete with thatched roof, bamboo, etc.

The Stardust is worth considering too. The location (north strip) isn't as convenient, but's it's the home of Wayne Newton, former home of Aku Aku, and right across the strip from the fantastic Fireside Lounge at the Peppermill.

Two web sites you might want to check out are the Las Vegas Advisor (I hang out in the forums there) and Cheapo Vegas, which has some actual good advice amongst the satire.
