I get so sad when I see vintage Hanalei stuff. It was the first truly major Tiki palace I visited (even before Hala Kahiki and Trader Vic's here in Chicago), and was the a large part of the impetus to begin the Tiki Bar Review Pages in 1994/1995. I have visited about five times: twice in it's original state, then I wandered through the place during the deconstruction (it was a sad, sad thing to see it being dismantled in front of my eyes), and then twice in it's new guise.
