I think we are all guilty of being a buyer/seller of various "hot" merchandise. As was pointed out this weekend by a veteran antique dealer in santa rosa, as Mr. Smiley was taking many vintage ashtrays from local establishments off his hands (for a small fee), if it weren't for the practice of "lifting" such items from such establishments, there would be a LOT less to collect...! He who has never "lifted" a menu/ashtray/napkin/swizzle stick/mug/glass/pamplet/brochure/lighting fixture/table accessory/bar wench, etc. from a tiki or other establishment may cast the first stone...
